The new Ellen Page film “Whip It” was produced by none other than Drew Barrymore. Film follows the story of an ex-beauty queen from Texas who discovers she prefers a roller derby rink to a runway. Wonder who this film is targeted to? Certainly not the bad boys who are fans of the first excellent “Rollerball” (1975) movie. Let’s try to not even think of the really bad re-make of “Rollerball” (2002). Of course we can’t forget to consider the best roller derby movie of all time “Kansas City Bomber” starring the voluptuous Raquel Welch. This latest “it girl” movie vehicle will be released on October 5th, 2009.
