The extended holiday weekend continued to bring joy (and loads of cash) to the people involved with the latest Twilight movie New Moon. Over the 5-day weekend, the teen vampire movie tallied $66 million in box office receipts, bringing it’s running total to about $230 million domestically.
Globally, the movie doing just as well. The estimated global box office total for New Moon now sits at nearly $500 million - not too bad for a film that cost an estimated $50 million.
In other box office news, the Sandra Bullock feel-good flick The Blind Side continued to do very well over the holiday weekend - actually increasing it’s take to $40 million this weekend and about $100 million total.
