The “rogue” agent plot line seems to be popular these days. This time the agent is a woman. Angelina Jolie (”Mr. & Mrs. Smith“, “Wanted“) returns to an action role as Evelyn Salt, a government agent accused of being a Russian assassin. She is on the run from her co-workers as she sets out to kill the President of the US, or not? Directed by Australian, Philip Noyce (”Patriot Games“, “Clear and Present Danger“) who has the experience to pull off a fully-fledged action flick. If he can keep it anywhere near as good as one of his first and often overlooked masterpieces “Dead Calm“, this should be worth seeing. We will have to wait a while. The movie is scheduled for release on July 23rd, 2010. Whatever happened to when the studios used to release movie posters and trailers a couple of months before the movie?
