In an interview with Matt Lauer on NBC’s “Today”, Twilight superstar Kristen Stewart admitted that it was a nice change of pace to be in movies that people are actually watching and care about.
“I’m so used to doing movies that people don’t see,” Stewart said. “I’ve never been able to share what I love with so many people - this is a once in a lifetime [opportunity]. We make movies for people.”
Prior to 2008’s Twilight, Stewart hadn’t been seen much in Hollywood. She had small roles in Jumper and What Just Happened, but she’s done a lot of acting in smaller, indie films like Into the Wild and The Yellow Handkerchief (which is finally coming to theaters in February).
Even Adventureland, where I personally first noticed Stewart, grossed a very meager $16 million at the box office.
Now that she’s a global phenomenon though, Stewart seems to have remained grounded. “Luckily, we’ve been so busy, we haven’t really had a second to look up and see what it seems like it is on the outside. It seems really crazy, like we live this life on TV, but it’s so not true,” Stewart told Lauer.
