Google Testing Affiliate Network to Rival ValueClick’s Commission Junction

by admin on October 19, 2006

Article on Mashable.com social networking commentary site. I’ve posted this before, but this article provides a few more specifics. I also received a direct mail piece from Google related to Google Checkout. More to come on that I am sure.

“Google is testing an affiliate network that could rival ValueClick’s Commission Junction - publishers will be paid when when their visitors perform specific actions, like generating a lead or buying a product. The CPA (cost per action) system was revealed today in an email sent to David Jackson at SeekingAlpha. The ads won’t compete with existing contextual ads - instead they’ll be rolled out on a new network, the Content Referral network. During the test, publishers will be sent a weekly email report of their earnings.”
