…Samuel L. Jackson and Emma Watson. Don’t lie - you did NOT guess Samuel L. Jackson. The Guinness World Records recently announced that Watson was the highest grossing actress of the 2000s - due in part to her role in the wildly successful Harry Potter films. Watson has been in six live-action films this decade (all of them the Potter movies), grossing a combined $5.4 billion!
Samuel L. Jackson, on the other hand, has simply been named the highest grossing actor of ever - with no specific time frame given. Incredibly, his films have grossed a combined $7.42 billion. A sizeable chunk of that stems from his involvement with the most recent Star Wars films: episodes I, II, and III have grossed a combined $2.42 billion worldwide.

He’s smiling because he’s filthy rich.
But Jackson doesn’t seem like a likely choice for the decade’s highest grossing actor. Twisted? Changing Lanes? Snakes on a Plane? These are not high-grossing films.
After crunching some box office results on The Numbers, I found that Jackson has had a great decade ($3.3 billion), but it’s dominated by Daniel Radcliff’s $5.43 billion and Orlando Bloom’s $6.5 billion this decade.
So what does it all mean? Nothing. Other than these stars have more money than you or I can ever dream of. Happy Holidays!
